Each fall, Times-Picayune restaurant writer Brett Anderson seeks out the best of New Orleans dining for Lagniappe's Fall Dining Guide -- published Oct. 31, 2010. Included in his annual list of 100 Great Places to Eat are the "Top 10" eateries that "uphold New Orleans' reputation for world-class fine dining."

He regards the Top 10 New Orleans restaurants as esteemed equals, listed alphabetically rather than ranked 1 to 10.

We'd like you to rank the restaurants.

You might ask: Why create a list of the best only to end up singling out the worst of the best?

Here's why: It's fun.

Which is why we're going to let Brett stay on the journalistic high road and invite you to rank his top picks from 1 through 10, with 1 being your choice for the best restaurant of the group and 10 your, uh ... least highly regarded.

Use the comment stream below to rank Brett's Top 10, or list your own. And look for Brett to join the conversation periodically as part of our never-ending dialogue about dining in New Orleans.

And, while you're here, explore the nola.com dining guide to find this year's top 100 as well as other reviews from the past.

Here's a look at this year's "Top 10" according to Brett Anderson:

* Cochon
